Larry Kelly, 74, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Baptist Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in Itta Bena Cemetery. Rev. Butch Kelly and Rev. Ricky Wheat will officiate. Visitation is Monday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Larry was born to Roy Preston and Jean Dodd Kelly and was a lifelong resident of Itta Bena. He graduated from Leflore County High School and attended MS Delta Community College. Larry was a carpenter, farmer, seined catfish ponds, and owned and operated Larry’s Fish House for the past 30 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Itta Bena where he was currently serving as chairman of the deacons, taught Sunday School and served on various committees. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play in sporting events.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, David Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Diane Whiteside Kelly, two sons, Larry Kelly, Jr. (Brandi) of Greenwood, Bradley Kelly (Allison) of Madison; six grandchildren, Madeline Kelly of Greenwood, Allie Kelly of Madison, Norris Kelly of Madison, Luke Kelly of Greenwood, Jack Kelly of Madison, John Carson Kelly of Madison; brothers, Rev. Butch Kelly(Evie) of Itta Bena, Rev. Tommy Kelly (Pam) of Houston, MS sisters, Pennye Johnson (Steve) of Moscow Mills, MO, Kathy Wier(Robbie) of Hernando, MS and sister-in-law Sherry Kelly of Itta Bena.
Pallbearers will be Luke Kelly, John Carson Kelly, Norris Kelly, Jack Kelly, Trey Kelly, Chris Kelly, Dave Kelly, Rob Joiner, Barry Makamson, and Bo Giachelli. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of First Baptist Church, Itta Bena, employees of Larry’s Fish House, Bill and Michael Gardner.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Itta Bena or the charity of donor’s choice.
